HMAS Success decommissions after 33 years’ service to Australia

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has decommissioned the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment ship HMAS Success, at her home port of Garden Island in Sydney, in a ceremony full of tradition, after more than three decades of service.
Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Michael Noonan AO, RAN joined 23rd and final Commanding Officer of HMAS Success, Captain Darren Grogan to pay tribute to the ‘First Lady of the Fleet’, a title given to Navy’s oldest ship, and, the 5,000 men and women who served in her.
