HMAS Melbourne returns to Australia for final time

The Royal Australian Navy’s oldest Adelaide Class warship, HMAS Melbourne (III), has returned to Australia from her final overseas mission.

The 138 metre-long Guided Missile Frigate arrived at Gladstone Port in Queensland today, following a three month deployment throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Commander Australian Fleet, Rear Admiral Jonathan Mead AM RAN, said Melbourne’s final deployment saw her successfully complete a range of essential maritime security operations with partner nations.
